Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro bites her lip

chose the year 1970 to be born. Puerto Rican writer, novelist and essayist. Was chosen as one of the writers latinoamaericanas less than 39 years outstanding on the Bogotá39 convened by UNESCO, the Hay Festival and the Ministry of Culture Bogotá reason to celebrate this city as World Book Capital 2007.

Disciple of creative writing workshops by Dr. Mayra Santos Febres and Dr. Luis López Nieves, not surprisingly, Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro is an outstanding writer in several genres, especially in the narrative genre.

His newly released book, Stories to bite the lips (Passage Inc. 2009), was presented this year at the Carnegie Library located in Old San Juan.

stories to bite the lips bites talks about love, sadness, fragility, and stormy times in failures of some lives. Twenty-four stories in which the boldness is present when the author describes his unique style, living situations his characters, filling the pages through their letters, multiple colors.

It's like starting to make a quilt like the ones our grandmothers sewed, patch to patch, bringing those colors of such nuance and shades of surprising us with other living, true colors of life.

Author of storybooks Moon Eyes (Second Prize 2008 National Institute of Puerto Rican Literature, Book of the Year 2007 the newspaper El Nuevo Dia) lyrics Origami (2004) and The Documented Award finalist novel PEN Club 2006 as the spear as a novelist.
